Hover Fly parasite…
I believe this female is actually ovipositing into a syrphid larva that feeds on these aphids.

Indeed it is! I was looking for Syrphid fly larva all day and didn't see any, so I thought. But the photo of oviposition proves otherwise. Thanks for the correction!
