these are tough with specimen under 'scope, let alone from pics
seeing the entire outline of pronotum & elytra in full focus in dorsal view is critical; however, this is a rather boreal group, with not too many spp. in our area --so please keep taking & posting their photos, we need a visual critical mass in the guide to figure them out (and also Dr Cline's publishing his revision of nearctic spp.! coming soon)

A few more
I found a few more of these, a couple of different species I think. Last night was the first time I've seen them on my porch, and I found another of the same in the field. Maybe there was a hatch in the area.
I'll upload these photos to the genus -- please frass whatever needs it. (Hopefully they're the same genus...)
