Hypebaeus oblitus (LeConte), male
Specimen now a photo-voucher. Thanks Tom.

This species was synonymized under H. apicalis (Horn) by Marshall (1). I don't know when/if it was resurrected. Taxonomy in this family is quite messy, and sometimes confusing as hell.
