Moved
Moved from Gargaphia.

Gargaphia iridescens
The markings of the discoidal area and the three to four veins of the costal area darkened as well as the host plant (Malvaceae) separates it from its closely related species, G. opacula.
Though G. iridescens has not been documented for Utah, it's recorded in all but one neighboring States.

Moved tentatively; cool...

It is
always pleasing to inspect a tiny spot on a leaf and find it is a bug rather than debris or frass! I have been wanting to find one of these.

I've made that into a game!
It's called "Creature or Feature?" You guess, then check if it's a creature (insect) or feature (part of the plant). Seeds give me fits!

I like it Ron!
Right now I am the finding bits of organic matter that make a sheath over some emerging buds. They have dropped onto the leaves below in little pieces and are fooling me all the time.
