False Blister Beetle - Oxycopis thoracica

False Blister Beetle - Oxycopis thoracica
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
June 10, 2013
Size: 7-8mm
I was thinking Oxycopis thoracica except this is twice that size.

EDIT: I've recently started using my MP-E with my full-frame camera, which means I'm shooting at higher magnifications. I shoot this at 2X, which would half what I measured in PhotoShop. This beetle was still on my sheet and I verified measurement at 7-8mm.

huge size variability is not uncommon among those developing in very dry wood, but this is not the case here, i suspect
