Some kind of tussock moth? - Dasychira basiflava

Some kind of tussock moth? - Dasychira basiflava
Richmond County, Virginia, USA
June 12, 2013
Size: approx 2 inches
Appears similar to a white-marked tussock moth but with some color variations and 4 tufts of long hair at the ends instead of the usual 3. Found on my car under some birch and beech trees.

Moved from ID Request.

This one is a Dasychira, not Orgyia, but close
the black setae look long and narrow, not plumed, so we would suggest D. basiflava

Thanks!
It appears you are correct! I couldn't find this tussock moth in any of my searches. Thank you so much!

I'm posting a picture of the same catipillar today!
Please let me know of you get this identified :-)
