I'm stuck - Syrphidae or Asilidae ? - Microdon manitobensis - Female

Size: est. 13mm
I'm really stuck on this one. Initially thought Syrphidae but antenna length sent me to Asilidae. Checked all Laphria but can't match. Went back to Syrphidae and thought I'd made a match when I stumbled on Callicera but antennal structure isn't the same. Interesting leg colour, dark wings, face looks like syrphid. Please help!! What am I missing??

Someone else just told me the same thing. I've never seen one before but will recognize them in the future. Of the species here at BG this seems a good match for M. manitobensis. Thanks so much, -v-!
