Amphasia interstitialis

Amphasia interstitialis
Fews Ford, Eno River State Park, Orange County, North Carolina, USA
June 11, 2013
Size: 10 mm
I found this beetle running across the concrete pad of a picnic shelter. I captured it, thinking it was a Brachinus, but realized the pronotum was shaped wrong and it looked closer to Harpalinae. I was pretty sure it was Trichotichnus dichrous, but a couple of things looked off. After examining images here and consulting a technical work (1), I realized the elytral punctures, golden hairs, and color (not quite iridescent), details of the pronotum, and large spur on the front tibia lined up with Amphasia interstitialis.
