blue-legged bug - Homotoma ficus

blue-legged bug - Homotoma ficus
San Leandro, Alameda County, California, USA
June 12, 2013
Size: 3-4mm
This was on a fig leaf on a tree in my yard tonight. I assume this is a psocid? I've never seen one that looks anything like this. Short, hairy, thick antennae; blue legs and bright green body.

I forgot about Psylloidea!

I'll look for more to see if I can figure out if the fig is really what they like.

There are lots of different plants in my yard, many of them not native, and it seems that more than half the insects aren't native either...

i must admit i know squat about psyllids,
...beyond the obvious fact they are ubercool, but the beast does look a bit out of place; must be an alien indeed.
hope Dennis Haines recognizes it --or shows it to a psyllid expert

fig
I found 10-12 more today on two different fig trees in my yard. Seems that's what they really like. I looked a bit on other nearby plants and didn't happen to notice any on non-figs.
