Appalachian Azure caterpillars - Celastrina neglectamajor

Two caterpillars on a Black Cohosh inflorescence. The brown caterpillar, being tended by an ant, is about 1 cm long. The earlier instar green caterpillar at right is perhaps 3 mm long.
