Adult female - Neon reticulatus - female

Adult female - Neon reticulatus - Female
Cowichan Valley, British Columbia, Canada
June 13, 2013
Size: ~2.5mm body length
Found in conifer litter. Neon reticulatus I think - will check with Rod.

What a fun little creature! It's neat looking at such a small spider on your finger and having it look right back at you. Most of this set was taken on my hand/arm. Interestingly, when I tried to put her on rocks, leaves or various bits of debris she would dart around making it hard to get good images. But whenever my fingertip was near, she'd clamber on (not hop) and calm right down.

"The Neon is a bit atypical for American reticulatus specimens, but is a lot more like European ones here:

At any rate, it's clearly not nellii."

Moved from Jumping Spiders.

That's weird. I wonder if it was the warmth?

Could well be. I noticed something similar with the male, though not quite as much.
