Carolina Grasshopper?? -
Encoptolophus subgracilis
-
Kerrville, Kerr County, Texas, USA
June 5, 2006
Size: ~50 mm
I took this last June. I just realized that I hadn't identified it.
The best I can come up with when looking through the guide is a Carolina Grasshopper (Dissosteira carolina).
Have I got it right or is it something else?

Carolina Grasshopper??
Hi, Looks like a male Encoptolophus subgracilis to me. Hind wings should be pale yellowish with a smokey/cloudy margin, and hind tibiae most likely bluish.

Something else.
This will turn out to be something else. Would help to know the color of the hind wing and the hind tibia. Lots of diversity in Texas!
