Identification
Adult: Sharply pointed white FW has a slanting black median bar that connects with black costal streak. Bands of brown and gray shading pass on either side of white ST line.

The species has a scattered distribution from Ontario to Connecticut, south to Florida and Texas.

Larvae have been reared on
Protococcus species (freshwater green algae), but probably also feed on lichens.

One generation in the northern parts, and two or more in the southern parts of its range.
