Good Habitat for Nocturnal mutillids

Good Habitat for Nocturnal mutillids
Inyo County, California, USA
you can only collect nocturnal mutillids in the west(primarily in dry or desert areas). This is the best set up for collecting them.
you need:
-A lantern- cheap Walmart ones will do great
-2 large trays
-and a jug of soap water

1. choose a sandy spot out of view from any road(laterns have been stolen before)
2. you dig in the trays side by side, making the rims level with the ground.
3. pour the soap water in the trays evenly(you may want to refill them once in a while)
4. finally turn on the latern just after the sun goes down and place it on the middle of the two trays
5. leave this set up on the entire night and come back in the morning
