Adult: forewing pale yellow with brown lines and shading; median line widest; orbicular and claviform spots large, white, round, about equal in size, with another small spot between them; reniform spot divided into 6 or 7 white segments; hindwing pale yellow with no shading

Quebec and New Hampshire to Georgia, west to Louisiana, north to Manitoba
Habitat
deciduous woods and edges, suburban yards; adults are nocturnal and come to light

adults fly from August to October

larvae bore in twigs of ash (Fraxinus spp.) and Boxelder (Acer negundo)
