Terrific job of getting these images and contributing a new genus to Bugguide! These are among my favorite spiders, but very difficult to find!

Thanks for your comments. While we were taking the pictures, we got a clue abut their behavior. My wife Cheryl accidentally touched the web, so lightly, the spider seemed to think it was an insect, and released the web it was holding. It must have released it BEHIND itself, because the spider itself came shooting out to the middle of the web. Then, perhaps finding it a false alarm, with great shaking, it slowly reeled itself back to its original position. I believe we have recently seen movies of this happening with a British species on the Life in the Undergrowth series with David Attenborough.
