Woodlice Spider - Dysdera crocata

Woodlice Spider - Dysdera crocata
Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, USA
July 18, 2006
We found this guy running through the living room of my uncle's house. When I went to pick him up he stopped dead in his tracks and made no effort to get away. I took him to the kitchen counter and snapped the pictures. He never budged the entire time. No effort to get away, no aggressive behavior, no flinching, and no flaring of fangs. He just sat there and took it. They are beautiful spiders, especially their mother-of-pearl looking abdomens, but as my wife and daughters said, "They're frickin' sacry looking!"
