Sericomyia bifasciata - Female
St. Martins - Fundy Trail Parkway, Saint John County, New Brunswick, Canada
June 10, 2013
On carpet of flowering Bunchberry Cornus canadensis in mature coniferous forest along Bay of Fundy. Seems to key readily to Sericomyia bifasciata using the Ontario Syrphidae guide: abdomen shape; shape and location of maculae; leg colouration; gold bands of setae between tergites; darkened cross veins in wings.

Moved from Syrphid Flies.
