Damsel Bug? - Stenodema trispinosum

Damsel Bug? - Stenodema trispinosum
Amherst, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, USA
July 27, 2004
Photographed in my backyard. I am guessing it is a Damsel bug, can anyone confirm?

Moved
Moved from Stenodema.

S. trispinosa
^^

Do you have another photo showing hind femora?
^^

Don't think so.
Don't think it is a nabid, but I'm not sure what family to offer as an alternative:-) I'm leaning toward Alydidae, actually....

Broad-headed Bug?
Eric,

After some surfing around, I would agree with you. The body type does seem closer to Alydidae than of Nabidae...I'll keep snooping around.

On second thought...
Eric,

What about Stenodema?

Check out this shot on Cedar Creek's site...

Looks very similar to S. vicinum a grass-eating Plant bug...
