Photographed in my backyard. I am guessing it is a Damsel bug, can anyone confirm?

Don't think so.
Don't think it is a nabid, but I'm not sure what family to offer as an alternative:-) I'm leaning toward Alydidae, actually....

After some surfing around, I would agree with you. The body type does seem closer to Alydidae than of Nabidae...I'll keep snooping around.

Looks very similar to S. vicinum a grass-eating Plant bug...
