Dragonfly - Libellula flavida - male

Dragonfly - Libellula flavida - Male
Nacogdoches County, Texas, USA
June 19, 2013
Is this Libellula auripennis? It doesn't look 'perfectly' like the Golden-winged Skimmer pics.

Moved from ID Request.

Yes. Better.
The brighter yellow veins (of L. flavida) threw me off. So then I went back and forth with Gayle & Jeanell Strickland Diagnosis web page.
Then the 3 paranal cells got me to L. auripennis. But the black parts
on the abdomen looked bigger than all the pictures. Now with a more fitting abdomen and a pick of three different costa colors combinations
I'm thinking Libellula flavida.

Moving it
Thanks. Now I'm going to study up more on dragonflies and damselflies.

check
Libellula flavida and see what you think
