Damsel Bug - Himacerus major

Damsel Bug - Himacerus major
Seattle, King County, Washington, USA
September 8, 2006
I'm surprised to see that there's no Assassin Bugs for Washington. We have lots...If someone is able to ID this one, I'd appreciate it!
This one was found under a board I had setup in the garden.

Anaptus major (Costa)
Some visual identification clues include the apical darkening of the femora and pale connexiva contrasting with the dark hemelytra. This distinctive nabid was introduced from the Palearctic and is now established across the US. New genus and species for BG!

reminds me of Nabidae
note the series of elongated cells around the outer margin of the front wing membrane, one of the features of damsel bugs

Agreed.
This is in the Nabidae family, but maybe not the genus Nabis.

Thanks
Thank you all for your help. I know almost nothing about the "True Bugs".
