Newborns - Harmonia axyridis

Newborns - Harmonia axyridis
Thompsontown, Juniata County, Pennsylvania, USA
June 20, 2013
I wasn't sure what I was looking at when I took the photo--and I'm still not. Best guess, based on all the aphids in the vicinity, would be lady beetles. Any other ideas?

Thanks, Abigail.
Moved from ID Request.

I'm assuming that you meant species--but if you did indeed mean genus, please feel free to move it up a peg. I'll take your word on the spines; they're a blur to me. :)

yes, species
sorry, that's what I meant!

Harmonia axyridis
They've got those distinctive double-branched spines at egg hatch.

This is a great photo of the very earliest stage of egg hatch, please move to genus!
