I don't usually photograph great big insects with color!! I caught this beetle on dead leaves of Palmetto. I hope I got the family right!

Diane, a very personal request: would you mind orientating dorsal habitus photos of beetles & Heteroptera head-to-the-north [12 o'clock], like on the thumbnail in Yurika's comment? makes me life a whole lot easier, as far as comparing stuff with ref.sources is concerned
