Bee on blade of grass - Triepeolus

Bee on blade of grass - Triepeolus
6 miles NW Lyons, Boulder County, Colorado, USA
July 27, 2007
Size: BL 13.3 mm
This fancy bee was sleeping on a blade of grass. The closest I could find in the University of Colorado entomology collection some years ago was a Doeringiella sp, which now is genus Triepeolus. I will post dorsal, face view and wing. Any help is much appreciated.

Triepeolus sp
A favorite bee! I'm delighted to know its genus. Thank you so much, Dr. Ascher!

Epeolini
Thanks for moving this to the tribe Epeolini, James. It is much appreciated.

No problem Lynn!
I suspected Triepeolus as well--although the two common Epeoline genera are really hard to tell apart!

Triepeolus vs. Epeolus
I checked my Michener, McGinley and Danforth yesterday to see the differences. You are right! All about T5 and S6 differences in females and pygidial plates in males. Really hard from a photo!
