spider/centipede mix? - Scutigera coleoptrata

spider/centipede mix? - Scutigera coleoptrata
Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina, USA
June 17, 2013
Size: 1-2 inches long
This one creeped me out! At first glance it appeared to be a spider simply by the way its legs were moving but a closer examination revealed it is not a spider at all, this creature has multiple legs of which 3 (on its back side) appeared to be unusable as they did not move with the rest of the legs. Its body slithered around like a centipede and would contort itself in all different directions when touched.
