Size: >30mm wingspan
In a weedy area. I am sure it is a Scopula, and S. timandrata of the extreme southeastern U.S appears to be a good fit. However, considering the variability of S. limboundata, it may be a possibility as well.

I am grateful to Bob Patterson, who is familiar with Scopula timandrata, having identified a specimen submitted by Carol Wolf to be one, for solving the question regarding my moth in favor of S. limboundata.
