Owlfly - Ululodes macleayanus

Owlfly - Ululodes macleayanus
Lake Dallas, Denton County, Texas, USA
June 29, 2013
I saw this on an aloe stalk and it was identified as an owlfly. Not sure of the species. There appear to be quite a few images here for June but I was able to get a few nice close ups so I'm posting them. Feel free to frass if redundant. When I bothered this insect it raised it's abdomen.

Ululodes macleayanus, I think a female (abdomen apex is hard to see).

Thank you Joshua!

You're welcome
Usually when the abdomen is contorting like that, it's due to egg formation occurring inside a female.
