Tigrosa georgicola:

Thanks so much
Laura or anyone, do you know what the little red spot is on the face (maybe top of the fang)?

Red Spot
That's a good question. It's a natural part of the spider that happens to be bright red in this species. The closest thing I could find to call it was "endite", but I don't know if that's quite right or if that part has a special name. I still have a lot to learn about spider anatomy. Maybe one of the others will see your question. Edit: It's called a boss.

Yey! Someone used my picture!
As for the species in the photo, I'm cut between Tigrosa aspersa and Tigrosa georgicola. Both species CAN have banding on the legs. Though in my photo, the T. georgicola's leg bands are quite thin. The aspersa is well known for having bright tiger strips, so I think there is a good possibility of it being an aspersa. However, the one thing that really makes it scream T. georgicola is the median stripe on the back of its cephalothorax and how it extends ALL the way across the the back. T. aspersa usually going have a prominent line on the face section. This individual's dominance in medial stripe is making me think more T. georgicola than T. aspersa. I do have to say, this individual looks a LOT more beautiful than mine!
