Large black beetle with big mandibles. Something in Carabidae? - Pasimachus - Female

I found this large black shiny beetle today under an old piece of wood. At first glance I thought stag beetle but the more closely I looked at it the more ground beetle characteristics I saw. First, the antennae are straight and stag beetles typically have elbowed antennae. Also, it scurried around very quickly, like ground beetles usually do and unlike slow moving stag beetles. I think it's a ground beetle but I could be wrong. I would love to know the species. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have never seen a beetle quite like this one and the ground beetles with large mandibles that I have seen have been much smaller than this one. Thanks!

Thanks for moving it!
Thanks for moving the pic to the guide. Did you edit the image to include the female logo or was that me?

Pasimachus
Not sure beyond that.

Thanks!
Thanks so much! Even that was helpful!
