Very likely an adult female sagebrush grig
Hello, based on the location, and the fact that I can't see an Ander's organ (small stridulatory apparatus found only on C. monstrosa) I would bet that this is a sagebrush grig (C. strepitans).

I was very excited to see you
I was very excited to see your response come in via email just now because I had looked when I posted these photos and they would have been the first for the species on the guide. But I see you have also uploaded some photos and backdated them to 2009, just three days ago. Taking the wind right out of my sails! ;-) Well, the guide is all the better for it and I'll just have to try a little harder. Mine seem to be feeding on carrot and cichlid (fish food) pellets. Thanks for the comment and info, Kevin!
