How did you manage to take it ?

 
I had the centipede
sandwiched between a piece of plexiglass and a sheet of
plastic wrap. I have a shallow dish with a sheet of plastic wrap stretched over it. I place a specimen on the plastic wrap and then
lay a sheet of stiff plexiglass on top. The plastic wrap is a bit
stretchy or loose, so there's a shallow space between the two.
However, I don't remember how the centipede got on its back.

It's actually a great idea to get ventral views of specimens, when possible.
