Intermediate Red Damsel - Amphiagrion - male

Intermediate Red Damsel - Amphiagrion - Male
Kettle Moraine State Forest, shelter 3, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, USA
July 6, 2013

Moved
Moved from intermediate.

Odonata Central has very few records for intermediate
for Wisconsin, but rather has most Wisconsin records listed as Eastern. But Mike Reese states that most Wisconsin specimens are intermediate between Eastern and Western. We usually follow Odonata Central and would therefore say this is an Eastern, but Mike really knows the Wisconsin Odes, so we don't know where to go with this one.

Okay
I was basing that call on the dark thorax -- my understanding was that the eastern form was paler blue there. I can move it wherever seems best.
