I usually can come up with a decent search criteria to successfully ID my insect finds, but despite a lot of looking around I'm having no luck with this beauty. Can somebody please help? Many thanks in advance. Love this site.

Moved
Moved from Robber Flies.

More likely
In the genus related to Diogmites. Saropogon and may be a female S. dispar.

a robber fly
family Asilidae, and maybe in genus Diogmites but I'm not familiar with them
