Cactus picture-winged fly - Stictomyia longicornis

Cactus picture-winged fly - Stictomyia longicornis
Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado, USA
July 4, 2013
Size: ~3-4 mm
I initially thought this fly was Notogramma purpuratum, but closer inspection reveals spotted wings, obvious pale bands on the tarsi, and much longer antennal segment than that species. Both Stictomyia and Notogramma are associated with cacti, too, making it difficult to separate them based on behavior and habitat.
