Zanclognatha confusion

A few of the Zanclognatha Guide pages seem confusing to me as I try to sort out a few scientific and common names.

BG gives:
Z. marcidilinea = Yellowish Zanclognatha according to the title of the Z. marcidilinea Info page.
Z. jacchusalis and Z. marcidilinea are synonyms according to the Synonyms section of the Z. marcidilinea Info page.
Z. ochreipennis = Wavy-lined Zanclognatha according to the See Also section of the Z. marcidilinea Info page.
Z. jacchusalis = Wavy-lined Zanclognatha according to the title of the Z. jacchusalis Info page.
Z. ochreipennis and Z. jaccusalis are synonyms according to the Synonyms section of the Z. jacchusalis Info page.
Z. jacchusalis = Yellowish Zanclognatha according to the See Also section of the Z. jacchusalis Info page.

It doesn't seem that all of those associations can be correct.

MPG gives:
Zanclognatha marcidilinea = Yellowish Zanclognatha Moth
Zanclognatha jacchusalis = Wavy-lined Zanclognatha Moth
Z. ochreipennis not listed.

This gives two species with common names neatly attached.

BAMONA gives:
Zanclognatha jacchusalis = Yellowish Zanclognatha
Zanclognatha ochreipennis = Wavy-lined Zanclognatha Moth
no listing for Zanclognatha marcidilinea

This gives a different pair of species with the same common names attached in a different way.

So looking to a couple other sources doesn't clear up any confusion. What's the correct story with these Z. species?

Info
I went through the same thing and emailed Bob Patterson who forwarded the email to Don Lafontaine. Bob sent me a PDF with info and Don also responded. I don't have your email address but if you email me I will forward the info to you. In the meantime, I will email the others.

Answers
The place to go for questions of noctuoid taxonomy is Lafontaine & Schmidt (1). Z. ochreipennis is a synonym of Z. jacchusalis. Z. jacchusalis, as used by some authors, is a synonym of Z. marcidilinea, but as originally described (Walker, 1859), it is still a good species. I can't help with the common name questions, but given that BugGuide and MPG are in agreement (in terms of headings--evidently the BG guide page text needs some cleaning up), and BAMONA is taxonomically out of date, I'd say it's best to go with MPG and BugGuide. BugGuide follows the taxonomy of MPG, so there shouldn't be any discrepancies there.

I totally agree
I don't really have anything helpful to add/discuss here other than to agree that all Zanclognatha moths are completely confusing to me. Every time I photograph one I simply label the genus and leave it at that. Good luck, and I hope someone clears this up for you.
