Identification
Heinrich (1956) stated Actrix dissimulatrix and Actrix nyssaecolella differ mainly by genitalia. Actrix dissimulatrix may have slightly more white dusting in the median area especially over the inner margin below antemedial line. (1)

Southeastern United States. (2)
Holotype collected Cape Henry, Virginia. (1)
Season
The adults appear to be most common from May to June. (2)
Food
Heinrich (1956) listed the food plant as Nyssa sylvatica Marshall (blackgum). (1)
