What species am I? - Enallagma carunculatum - Male
Seattle, King County, Washington, USA
July 28, 2006
Size: between 2 and 1 1/2 in
I had originally thought that this was the Circumpolar Bluet, but that was before I found this site and saw how many species there are! If anyone can give me a species that would be cool.
It was around 50 feet from a stream, by the way.

Moved from Bluets.

Abdominal segments
3 through 6 are a little more black than blue, which makes it pretty unique among the Enallagma. Feel pretty safe recommending E. carunculatum to you. Picture is a perfect match for Dennis Paulson's in Dragonflies of Washington by the Seattle Audubon Society
