Pseudoscorpion - Apochthonius

Pseudoscorpion - Apochthonius
Cowichan Valley, British Columbia, Canada
July 12, 2013
Size: 1.2mm body length
Found in conifer litter. I don't see pseudoscorpions too often so I was excited to find this critter!

Based on Christopher Buddle's online key I think this belongs in the genus Apochthonius. See the detail photos for rationale.

As always, photographed live and unharmed, the detail shots done using roughly the techniques described here.

Note: size excludes chelicerae.

Moved from Pseudoscorpions. I've been finding more of these and am pretty sure about the genus now.
