yellow_caterpillar - Phoebis sennae
Shepherd, Texas, USA
October 16, 2004
length: 1.5 inches
time of day: afternoon
weather: overcast, humid, around 80-85°F
the caterpillar was eating the blossoms...it was binding random parts of flowers together with silk, but not appearing to be making a cocoon or chrysalis

I believe this is Cloudless Sulphur, yellow form
which occurs when it feeds on blossoms, not leaves, of Senna species. See Georgia Lepidoptera site.
