Size: Big
Green-tan color. Black spots above the eyes & on the legs. A white waistband decorated in the middle with a crown like shape framed with black spots. It was hanging on a vine in my garden.

Looks like an Ash Gray Blister Beetle, Epicauta fabricii.

 
there is no E. fabricii that far southwest...
...and the two are not closely related [diff. subgenera]
