Shy Red Spider - Dysdera crocata

Shy Red Spider - Dysdera crocata
Schwenksville, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA
July 15, 2013
Size: ~12mm (body length)
I found this specimen, and others like it before, under leaf litter while gardening. The red coloration would be scary if the spider itself weren't so shy. It would crouch and then scurry for safety in alternating bouts.
Isn't s/he beautiful?
