Small Bee -
Megachile mendica
Rockville, Montgomery County, Maryland, USA
July 15, 2013
Size: 15mm, more or less
I see similar bees in the Melittid bees, the Cellophane bees, and the Mining bees. But I have no idea, really. Feeding on mountain mint (
Pycnanthemum muticum
).

Possibly Megachile...
...a leafcutting bee, like
this one
. I will leave it to the bee experts to confirm this.
