Igor Sokolov suggested Anatrichis minuta...

...a perfect match with the TAMUIC specimens i just checked

Not Anatrichis minuta,

rather still Amara in my opinion. I have a good example of Anatrichis minuta from OK which from a distance shows dorsum uniformly black (not nearly rufous pronotum), dullish luster because dorsum is uniformly covered with dense punctulae. Also minuta should have stronger straightish narrowing of pronotum anteriad. Easy of course to distinguish Amara from oodines when studied closeup.

Definitely Anatrichis, in my opinion.

The minuta I've seen from VA look exactly like this too.
