Western Conifer bug in NH - Leptoglossus occidentalis

Western Conifer bug in NH - Leptoglossus occidentalis
Swanzey, Cheshire County, New Hampshire, USA
April 25, 2013
Based on the guide, this looks to me to perhaps be a Western Conifer bug. But, I looked at the range areas, and it looked as if you didn't have New England in your range.

Western Conifer Seed Bug…
New England appears to be well represented.

See reference here.

range map mistake
My apologies. I was reading a range map, apparently, for a different bug; the range for that bug said it was reaching the Atlantic states. The most I can muster as a defense for my misreading is the unusual heat this summer in NH: 97 degrees yesterday with much humidity. It's been that way for 10 days.

No apologies needed…
A few of us here at BG have on occasion missed something (alright, maybe all of us have). ; - )

Thanks, Ross. You made my day. I was to the point where I was becoming a bit timid about
submitting to BugGuide and I do so very much enjoy learning about bugs. I've even gotten my husband into etymology, via the interesting behaviors of dragonflies and their incredible colors. It will be good to learn when you and your wife's web pages come online.
