Although I've always thought these insects to be impressive, "beautiful" was not a word that came to mind when I thought of them. While checking some Giant Ragweed plants I startled one and noticed the ruby red. That made me determined to see it for myself, so when I found another I had to investigate. One tough bug, it flew away, unfazed by my handling.
