strange bug - Eumorpha pandorus
greensburg, westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, USA
July 20, 2013
Size: 2 inches

Moved- Eumorpha
Moved from Sphinx Moths.

I note a rather scalloped subterminal line near the apex of the forewings, a characteristic of the similar Eumorpha intermedia, but location, as well as some other physical characteristics of this individual lean more towards E. pandorus.

Bug ID
Thank you so much for the identification! I have never seen one of these before!! Love the cammo on him and the way his wings are shaped!!!

Moved from ID Request.

Pandorus Sphinx…
Strange, but beautiful.
