Image nicely illustrates a venation character for the genus
Paratiphia have a distinctive wing venation character which is better captured in this photo than in any other current BugGuide post I could find.

It's best seen in the right wing here, as the "spur" vein forming the left arm of the "Y" whose right arm emanates from the pterostigma (= the dark-black oval spot, 2/3 out along the edge of the wing).

In other related genera, that spur-vein would continue and connect to the media (= vein along the posterior edges of the submarginal cells), and would separate the 1st submaginal cell here into 2 separate submarginal cells.
