Pinkish Millipede - Polydesmus

Pinkish Millipede - Polydesmus
Seattle, King County, Washington, USA
October 1, 2006
Size: 13mm
I had a blurry photo posted (now in Frass) that I had thought at first was a symphylan, until I saw that it had 2 legs per segment. Today, I found this pinkish little thing under the same brick as the other one in my garden. :)
I feel a lot better about getting any kind of ID from these photos, than the white one...undoubtedly one of these that had just molted.

Kepolydesmus pungo
According to Plants & Animals of the Pacific Northwest (1), on page 84, it mentions a flattened species of millipede that is usually pinkish brown with yellowish patches on the lateral portions of the segments. It can reach a length of 3 cm.

If somebody would like to make a species page, I think that it's a safe bet that this is the species mentioned in the subject line of this comment
