Moved from Spiders. Cool shots of a freshly molted "tube web spider" in the genus Segestria. They only have 6 eyes. Looks like in the 2nd shot, the freshly molted spider went to hide in the retreat and left the old exoskeleton to guard the entrance, haha. This is most likely Segestria pacifica but I'm only moving it to genus level because we can't be sure from the images (there's other species in CA).

It was in my back yard. I checked last week and the tunnel looked abandoned. Maybe it will be there, and I can get a different view.

Thanks, I completely missed that it only had six eyes!

I'm not sure about this one. Might be some kind of hacklemesh weaver? Let's see what others think.

I thought there were two but I guess that was his outer shell.

I didn't notice that before. She may have just molted, that may have something to do with the spider's pale color.
