Leaf beetle, but what kind? - Chelymorpha cribraria

Leaf beetle, but what kind? - Chelymorpha cribraria
Rock Pinelands Miami, Florida, USA
October 19, 2004
I found this little guy on a patch of weeds resting. I believe it's a leaf beetle, but I'm not sure what kind. I didn't have a camera with me yesterday, so I brought it home, snapped a few pictures, and let it go.

A tortoise beetle of some kind. I don't recognize a lot of the exotic Florida stuff:-)
